Data Availability

We used data from the 1999-2008 National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES). The NHANES has been described previously. Briefly, it is a nationally representative survey of the US civilian, noninstitutionalized population with data on demographics, lifestyle, anthropometric measures, and also ocular health (see citation below).
